Friends Five-O Educates, Entertains Seniors Seniors everywhere are getting notices they have been turned down for certain benefits and are having insurance companies terminate their policies because of a long laundry list of seemingly unnecessary reasons. For just $15 for a lifetime membership, seniors in a few select locations are reveling in top shelf benefits. GLORIA BUTLER BALDWIN |
Government Healthcare Are We On the Road to Mandatory Participation? Refusing to see Medicaid patients violates the law.
At least, that is what the Attorney General of Illinois, Lisa Madigan, is claiming in the recently filed anti-trust lawsuit against the Carle Clinic and the Christie Clinic. Madigan claims the two clinics, which employ 90 percent of Champaign County’s physicians, agreed to stop providing primary care to new Medicaid patients in an effort to increase Medicaid reimbursement rates and accelerate the time it takes for the state to make payments. Brand-name prescription drugs are 35 to 55 percent cheaper in industrialized countries than in the United States. ROGER MUNS |
Relevant Facts about Investing There are a few old sayings that got us thinking recently. “What goes around comes around” and “the more things change, the more they stay the same” are two. A third is “the only constant is change.” It reminds us of the old Johnny Mercer song “Something’s Got to Give.” So do things change or not, and what causes the change?
