Nebo Carter, Singing River Hospital System's Director of Human Resources, recently received the Mississippi Hospital Association Society for Human Resources Administration's 2006 Distinguished Service Award. He accepted the award at the Society's annual meeting held on Oct. 27 in Biloxi.

An employee of Singing River Hospital System for over 23 years, Carter has served as the Human Resources Director for the past nine. Chief Executive Officer Chris Anderson nominated him for the award.

During his tenure with the Hospital System Carter has helped in creating the Management and Leadership Development Program, a twelve-course class that trains employees how to be more effective managers. He has also led efforts to establish a high school health care career fair, which most recently brought over 800 high school students to interact with more than 150 SRHS employees.
