HATTIESBURG—The DuBard School for Language Disorders for the University of Southern Mississippi is preparing for a celebration in 2012, spanning 50 years of communication, innovation and excellence.
“The DuBard School literally works miracles with children with language disorders,” said Aubrey Lucas, PhD, honorary chair of the DuBard School 50th Anniversary Campaign, president emeritus and professor of higher education for Southern Miss.
Etoile DuBard, PhD, a university professor and co-founder of the school that bears her name, helped establish the school in 1962. Since then, the school has produced many academic milestones, such as developing the DuBard Association Method® that is taught to children worldwide.
“Planning is underway for activities that will celebrate this important milestone and provide avenues for philanthropic support to ensure the future of the DuBard School and its mission, said Maureen K. Martin, PhD, director of the DuBard School for Language Disorders since 1989.
