Forrest General Respiratory Care to Evaluate New Technology
Forrest General Hospital's Respiratory Care Department was the first hospital in the United States selected to evaluate an improved breath-actuated technology. Monaghan Medical selected Forrest General as a testing site to get critical feedback before full launch of this new, market-approved device. Forrest General was one of the first hospitals in the nation to adopt breath-actuated technology when it was first introduced in 2001.
Forrest General Respiratory Care evaluated the next generation AeroEclipse® II breath-actuated nebulizer (AEII™ BAN), a device for delivering medical aerosols to patients. The device enables caregivers to provide fast and accurate patient dosing, as compared to conventional small-volume nebulizers. Additionally, the AE™ II Breath-Actuated Nebulizer emits a comparatively smaller amount of the drug to the environment surrounding the patient during administration, which is of great significance to respiratory care practitioners and other caregivers subject to secondhand exposure.
